Request for a Community Discussion at WWG

Hello! A group of us are re-wording this letter to express the needs of the larger community. Below is a rough working draft. When the final draft is done, we will share it; meanwhile, feel free to sign it if you are in favor of a loving sacred discussion for all in the WWG community to commit to listen to each other and hear each other on this challenging issue. We believe in our community, and we believe we can have this conversation in a loving and sacred way.  (If you are interested in helping to create this discussion and helping to lead it please contact Annie or Jenn).

As devoted members of the WWG community, we are grateful for the work the producers do and feel great loyalty to WWG.  However, we do not feel comfortable with the current statement describing who is welcome and not welcome at Festival. Because of our deep concern, we lovingly request that a thoughtful, respectful in-person community discussion be held. We see this as a healing process where we can truly be vulnerable face-to-face, to help all of us heal from what has gone on online.  It is not mean to be a fight or to demand change; it is meant to offer a chance to hear everyone who may not have felt that they were heard or who felt that they were misunderstood, to bring back those who felt they have been pushed out, to embrace them and really hear what they have to say, and to make sure they know that we really do care about them and that they are welcome and that we do see them and we do hear them.

Thank you for considering our request.
